Our namesake comes from our founder’s father, Papa, and his beloved dog, Barkley.

The idea for Papa & Barkley came about after our founder, Adam Grossman, was desperate to find a way to relieve his father’s debilitating back pain. With a borrowed a Crock-Pot he created the first version of our famous Releaf Balm.

Adam’s creation helped relieve Papa’s back pain, and got him off hospice and back up on his feet.

Adam shared that first balm with more family and friends, and they confirmed it worked. He then knew he had to share his product with the world, with an image of Papa and his dog Barkley on the package, of course.

The Whole Story

We believe the most effective products come from honoring the plant as nature intended. That means we don't use harmful chemicals in our solventless process, and we maintain the integrity of the whole plant to get the most benefits.
